Last.fm has released their list of the most listened-to songs, albums, and artists of 2008. We've compiled them into a single list of the most popular music of 2008.

After a long programming session, we now have watchlist feeds! These feeds are opt-in only. To get the URL to your watchlist feed, go to Special:WatchlistFeed and enable the feed. After doing so, links to RSS and Atom feeds will appear. Add to your favorite feed reader/news agregator.

On July 15th, the API celebrated its two-year anniversary! It has been used by dozens of plugins and to make countless sites and applications.

We have just released the LyricWiki Challenge facebook app. It is a game which shows you a random section of a song's lyrics and gives scores/trophies when you guess the right song. Addictive & fun... check it out

You may have already notices the user Janitor adding a bunch of songs to the 'Other Songs' section of your favorite artist(s). I've been using this bot to add orphaned pages to their artists. Before you delete the links, please either redirect the pages to the correct page or mark the page for deletion.

Cyber Sinh has released his LyricWiki v1.1 software which connects to many popular media players to fetch the lyrics for the currently-playing song. It uses the .NET framework and can be downloaded here.

Speckmade has saved us all a ton of time and created an OpenSearch plugin for LyricWiki which will go directly to the target-page if it is available! If you use FireFox 2 or Internet Explorer 7, you should be able to choose an option from the search-bar in the top-right of your browser to add "LyricWiki".

Another site created by Sean has been unleashed upon the world. Pedlr is a site for artist and music fans to meet and to sell music. And contrary to the beliefs of some users, we didn't sell out, were are still here. Pedlr will, however, provide Motive Force with a revenue stream to support this site.

Pedlr - the site that I've been hard at work on since before October - is now up and running in a "soft launch" meaning that it works, but we haven't told the press yet. Please check it out and give me feedback, it's going to be a crucial part of LyricWiki's future!

To prepare for the full launch of Pedlr, we got a blazingly-fast database server and separated it from the web-server, and now the site is flying! I knew it would speed up LyricWiki, but this is phenomenal!

Thanks to everyone who filled out our 3-question survey over the last week or so. The results are now on the Official Blog so that everyone can see what's going on here at the site. There is also a mySQL file of all of the data available from the blog post.

Kiefer has been hard at work adding a ton of End-Of-The-Year Lists of the best albums and songs from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and more. There are 9 lists already... check them out.

We're on a dedicated server now which should be able to handle the increased traffic!

Frontway and myself have been hard at work designing a new main page for the site.

ÜberBot has completed the second batch of automated lyric insertions. However, we need help checking these lyrics for accuracy. You can find the list of pages at Category:Review Me.
